Data, Information and Information Management

Assalamualaikum WBT. Hello everyone, how are you doing? I hope you guys are doing well. At first, I am very grateful to almighty Allah to give me a place to live in here. I’ve just started my writing with a huge amount of hopes and dreams towards my study. As I am studying about ICT, I have something share with all of you about it.

The first topic that I have learned is about data and information. The topic itself was very interesting and I was very enthusiastic about it.

Now, let me tell you first about data and information. Data is a collection of facts, figures and statistics related to an object and Information is the manipulated and processed form of data. Data can be processed to create useful information by Computers. Data is used as input for processing and information is output of this processing.

Interrelation among Data, Information and Knowledge. 

In such a global economy, information technology plays an important role than labor and capital do. Microeconomic globalization is a phase at which companies are establishing a global mechanism of production and marketing by means of the computer and communication. Microeconomic globalization is closely related with global diffusion of information.

As the world economy is integrated, now is the time we have to think about the new role of each nation and region. Considering the key role of information technology in the world economy, we will have to find solutions in the information technology, information infrastructure, and information industry. From this viewpoint, it is important to analyze the effects of information technology on the economy in general, and find the directions we should move forwards.

I have also learned about information management. Information management is the collection and management of information from one or more sources and the distribution of that information to one or more audiences.

We have done a presentation about problems associated with Information Management and its solution. The topic itself was very interesting and I have learned a lot from that presentation. Previously, I haven’t got any idea about information management and what’s going on with it. When I have searched about it, I have found a lot of problems as well as its necessity in our daily life. The management system is very important to preserve the information and to show the audience about the development of our own field. We have mentioned many problems about the IM and we also gave the solutions that how to solve the problems. For example, little integration and coordination is one of the main problems that is interconnected with IM. We can solve this problem by recognizing our difficulties about the integration. We can use some methods in order to communicate with each other. Now I realize the importance of information management and its role in our life.
